The Twin Cities is blessed with an amazing stock of beautiful older homes, many on relatively smaller lots. You know this! You are most likely the owner of one. This presents an opportunity and challenge for general contractors. Whether it’s a small remodel to create the bathroom of your dreams, an addition to improve the function and look of a dated kitchen, or the creation of a new outdoor space for seasonal entertaining, we partner with our clients from start to finish. We lead and encourage our clients on a journey to find their inner designer or decorator to ensure their personal touch and style are present in the final product. Our favorite feedback (by far) is when our clients share with us how they’re using their new space. It inspires us!
So why "Cultivate"? How did we land on that name? That's a good question. In 2016, the year that it all got started, Lance (Owner) was looking in a thesaurus at the word "elegant". Near the bottom of the list he discovered its synonym: “cultivated.” He quickly turned to a dictionary to learn more about what it means to cultivate, and upon further reading, he knew it was the right name for his new construction endeavor.
Cultivate is a dynamic word, that’s why we picked it. From thoughtful design to hands on labor, we’re here to listen, guide and get the work done. We are always seeking to foster long term relationships with awesome people, and we can’t wait to work with you on your next project!

With what seems like a lifetime in construction, Lance has more than 20 years experience in residential and more than 10 years experience in commercial construction. Growing up building homes with his father, he developed functional design skills, the ability to problem solve in the field, and a sense for how a construction project should look during and at the end of the project. His current responsibilities include estimating, pre-construction services, and managing daily operations.

A skilled organizer and task manager, Katelyn assists with payroll, benefits, insurance, and finances. She enjoys baking and loves to host friends and family.
